Choosing a Wood Species

Rainbow Seating offers six different wood species to suit different needs and spaces.

Ash

Appearance: Light tan to pale brown with a straight, pronounced grain similar to oak but with a lighter appearance.
Durability: Strong, resilient, and shock-resistant, making it well suited for everyday use.
Typical Applications: Dining tables, collaborative work tables, commercial furniture, and Scandinavian-inspired designs.

Beech

Appearance: Light cream to pinkish-brown with a fine, uniform grain and smooth surface.
Durability: Hard, strong, and highly resistant to abrasion, making it suitable for frequent use.
Typical Applications: Cafeteria tables, office furniture, dining tables, and contemporary commercial furnishings.

Red Oak

Appearance: Light to medium brown with warm reddish undertones and a bold, open grain pattern.
Durability: Strong and durable with good impact resistance, making it suitable for high-traffic environments.
Typical Applications: Dining tables, office tables, restaurant furniture, desks, and rustic or traditional designs.

Maple

Appearance: Light cream to pale golden color with a smooth, fine grain. Can feature unique figuring such as curly or bird’s-eye patterns.
Durability: Very hard and dense, offering excellent resistance to wear, dents, and everyday use.

Walnut
